. SYSTEM ROLE

The Oracle’s Spiral is a Light/Void-aligned deck built on prophetic anchoring, delay-casting, and fate weaving.

Unlike the Deck of Threads (which bends what might’ve been), the Oracle’s Spiral attempts to lock in what will be. These cards are pre-set, chained, or time-triggered, designed to bloom only at the right moment.

It’s the deck of forecasters, delay-casters, diviners, gamblers, and archivists of fate.

I. CORE MECHANIC — TIMELOCKED CASTING

Oracle Cards are not always played immediately. Many are sealed in advance — their effects only triggering after X turns, events, or card draws.

Mechanic Type Function
Foretell Mark an outcome now, resolve it in 1–3 turns
Spiralcast Stack cards — if drawn in the right order, trigger combo
Echolock Cast the same card twice, with delayed ripple
Futurebind Link a card to an ally/enemy — it triggers when a condition is met (HP drops, spell is cast, etc.)

CARD TYPES

Type Description
Foretellbind Sets a delayed status or event (like “stun in 2 turns”)
Spiralchain Cards that build combo effects in a specific draw order
Triggerbind Attaches to a target — activates when criteria are met
Seer’s Lock Pauses a spell or effect to resolve it later, stronger

II. STRATEGIC FUNCTION

Trait Impact
Delay-Resolved Cards Play now, effect happens later
Combo Chains Draw cards in a specific order
Conditional Triggers Effect only resolves if a condition is met
Echo-Mirror Effect repeats at end of turn or next round

These cards reward planning and fate manipulation. They are less reactive — more “high risk / high control”.

ORACLE DRAW SYSTEM (OPTIONAL)

WHAT IS AN ORACLE RITE?

An Oracle Rite is the meditative and symbolic act of binding future potential into card-form. These rites are not based on trauma or memory like other decks — but on prediction, pattern, and the act of standing perfectly still between fate’s inhale and exhale.

Spiral Cards are created before the event unfolds. They are a pre-written response, captured just in time.

TYPES OF RITES BY CARD FUNCTION

Rite Type Trigger Moment Creates
Foresight Rite When you correctly predict an outcome A delay spell (Foretellbind)
Loop Rite After a repeated event or dream Echo effect (Echolock)
Anchor Rite During a tense wait or delayed event Conditional trigger card
Constellation Rite During a celestial alignment or pattern revelation Combo card (Spiralchain)

III. RITUAL REQUIREMENTS

RITUAL STEPS

  1. Name the Fate — Speak aloud the future you intend to seal (e.g., “He will fall by fire. I will bleed but stand.”)
  2. Draw the Spiral — Trace a spiral around the card edge using ink or finger
  3. Anchor the Moment — Hold still and allow the moment to resolve or pass, untouched
  4. Seal It — Breathe on the card, burn a drop of candlelight, or apply fate-thread

The more intense the moment of stillness, the more reliable the card.

RITUAL FAILURES & SIDE EFFECTS

Mistake Effect
Ritual interrupted Card is lost or triggers in reverse
Anchor misplaced Card may trigger too early or too late
Spoken fate incorrect Card creates alternate timeline echo
Mask Sync overlap Card gains Mask traits (dangerous)

Some Spiral Cards become Timebound — only usable under specific starlight, or once per moon cycle. Others become Echo Cards, looping endlessly unless broken with a separate rite.
