A Record of Fire, Void, and the Woman Called Maesa

πŸ“– Chapter I: THE PULSE AND THE MOTHER

Before there was time, there was the Pulse -bright, black, and burning. - Archive of the Sliver Temple

At the origin of all things, there were three.

The Light - blinding, consuming, ever-reaching. It was the spark that scorched void and birthed Seraveth, radiant and hollow.

The Void - still, shielding, suffocating. It knew all, felt all, held all. In its hush, the first dreams formed. From its depths, she emerged.

And then the Sliver in Between, neither force nor form, but the breath where contradiction blooms. Creation began not in balance, but in tension "push and pull, fire and frost, love and erasure.

From the Void came Maesa'ka - called the Mother, the Enchantress Prime, and the Womb of Worlds.

She did not live in the way mortals understand. She unfolded, unraveling from silence, her breath shaping the first words. Her heart gave rise to the Enchantresses, elemental beings of creation, each destined to fuse with the first Seraveth to birth the Dragon Gods - cosmic forces that anchored reality.

The Dragon Gods were many: flame, tide, bone, song, ash, bloom, rot, and silence. They became the heartbeat of the world.

But life, once birthed, rejected stillness.

From creation came conflict. Seraveth turned on their kin, Veydrathi clawed at sky, and the first war began - flesh against light, magic against belief. In hopes of ending the war they had birthed, Maesa and her light-born

counterpart, the unnamed Father, offered themselves to destruction. Their children " elves, Veydrathi, Seraveth " tore them to pieces.

It was mercy. It was madness. It didn't last.

For Maesa cannot die. Not truly. The Void does not forget its daughter. She is always reborn.

And when she is, so too are her sons: River, the Mouth - who speaks endings into truth. Manu, the Eyes - who sees the shape of what will be lost. Enzo, the Heart - the pulse of Void incarnate, whose birth heralds collapse.

They are not prophecy. They are inevitability.

And each time she returns, the world breaks again.

πŸ“– Chapter II: THE FIRST SUNDERING

"Three sons. One world. No mercy." β€” Shaden, Seer of the Deep Archive

Elves and Veydrathi rose from ash and blood, shaped by enchantress-fire and born with wild magic in their veins. They thrived in vast citadels of obsidian and root, speaking forgotten languages to the trees and beasts.

The Seraveth, winged and cold-eyed, viewed this chaos with righteous dread. Children of Light, they believed their Father's fire divine, and all Void-born kin a stain upon existence.

When Maesa was first reborn in flesh, she was a queen of the deep jungles, draped in flame and shadow, beloved by beasts and feared by kings. Her return sparked terror among the Seraveth, for her presence meant one thing: the sons would follow.

They came, as they always did. River, born screaming beneath a blood eclipse. Manu, who never cried-only watched. Enzo, born still, born silent, born burning.

The Seraveth believed they could break the cycle. That if they killed the mother before the Heart awakened, the Void's power would scatter. And so they made war. Terrible, cleansing war.

The Veydrathi and Elves resisted, but the Light was merciless. Cities crumbled. Forests bled. Dragons fell from the sky like meteors, their bones now mountains.

It was then that two strange beings emerged from the shattered heavens: Shaden and Kazmund, twin archangels who had refused fusion with the Enchantresses, refusing godhood. They watched, recorded, whispered.

Shaden, erratic and brilliant, studied Maesa obsessively. Kazmund, loyal and steady, protected her across incarnations, though she rarely remembered.

Neither could stop what came.

The Seraveth found her. Sacrificed her. Killed two of her sons.

But Enzo lived a first time.

And Aethros burned. This was the first Sundering. The first broken age.

πŸ“– Chapter III: THE KINGDOM OF VEYDRATHI

"The world held its breath, and for once, the Mother smiled." - Arii, Queen of the Eastern Sea

Of all her incarnations, it was Karolisse "the daughter of Kaedrith" who lived in the brightest light before the fall.

She was born to royalty in a world forged of magic, metal, and dragons-a golden age of mecha-steampunk kingdoms and towering alchemic wonders. Kaedrith stood as a beacon of peace and progress, its cities vast and glittering, humming with energy both arcane and electric.

The people revered knowledge. Innovation reigned. War was distant.

Karolisse grew up curious, loud, fierce. She had a stubborn streak carved from obsidian and a heart that burned hotter than any forge. She traveled the continent, learning every magical and elemental art-especially fire, earth, and a strange, flickering command of lightning. It was taught to her in jest by a wandering war monk named Pai Hai, who had not laughed in centuries. She kicked him in the shins at age fourteen, and he never left her side again.

She was not alone.

She met the pirate-queen Acriella (Arii), a woman of lavender hair and impossible maps, who would one day hide the legacy of the Maesa'ka beneath the sea.

She rescued the sprite-imps, Flip and Pall, from the Forest of the Dead, convincing a Lich King to let them sleep eight hundred years more.

She made monsters into friends, enemies into family, kings into believers.

And she loved.

Her heart belonged to a young alchemist duke-Erik Hallows. Once, long ago, they had studied side-by-side, he teaching her metals and potions, she sparking entire labs into chaos. Even after years apart, the love remained, smoldering.

They were married beneath a storm of cherry blossoms and stardust. And the world held its breath.

Karolisse gave birth to River and Manu. The stars flickered. The dragons stirred.

But Erik saw too far, too deep. He knew the war would come again. That the Heart would be born. That Enzo would arrive, and Aethros would shatter once more.

And so he made a choice.

πŸ“– Interlude: THE LAST TEMPEST

"To breathe lightning is not to rage-but to remember the silence before the first storm." - Skyborne Temple Prayer

Paitar-Haiketh-known to the world as Pai Hai-was born the same day as Heindrich Kaelvyrn, the Mad King of Kaedrith. Their births marked the dawn of the Ashwake Era, a time of endless war, prophecy, and the first great sunderings of balance.

Pai Hai was raised in the high altars of Weilah, under the tutelage of Raekho, a blind Eithari monk whose body could crack mountains and whose breath quieted beasts. Raekho served the golden dragon god Thalosz, and from him, Pai Hai learned calm, power, and restraint.

But when the Seraveth Host, fearing Maesa'ka return, launched a holy war against the dragons, shrines fell. The Second Clutch of eggs was lost. Raekho died shielding his temple. Pai Hai rose from the ash, no longer a divine monk- but a warrior with a monk’s steeled temperment and determination. He sought not vengeance, but honor through challenge: kings, beasts, armies, gods. He defeated them all. He did not survive them. They survived him.

His name became a warning. Until a broken-toed teenage girl named Karolisse kicked him in the shin and cried at him for being β€œa big meanie.”

And Pai Hai laughed. And the storm in him cracked just enough to let the light in.

He became her protector-her uncle-and walked beside her until the day she and her sons were sacrificed. He fell again that day, gutted on a palace floor like his master had once been. But he lived. And so did his rage.

Allan Kaelvyrn found him. Together with her son, they escaped the dying world and watched it burn. And Pai Hai? He waits. The storm holds its breath again.

πŸ“– Chapter IV: THE BETRAYAL OF THE KING

To save the world, he gave it back to the fire." - Kazmund, Keeper of the Last Gate

Erik Horrosh, once a boy of books and glass vials, had grown into a man haunted by prophecy. He knew the world of Aethros would not hold. The signs were there: strange eclipses, Seraveth emissaries speaking in riddles, entire nations vanishing beneath rising seas.

And Karolisse-his wife, his queen, his Maesa-had begun to change. Her eyes darkened. The shadows clung to her like old friends. She heard the dragons in her sleep.

Then came the third child. Enzo.

He did not scream when born. He opened his eyes and the torches in the room died. Water in the castle's fountains turned to steam. And Erik wept.

He had studied every ancient record. Spoken with Shaden in dreams. Bargained with Seraveth. The answer was always the same: Kill the Heart, or lose the world.

But he couldn't. Not at first.

Karolisse trusted him. Loved him. She had given him sons, a kingdom, a future. So Erik waited. Planned. And when the signs grew too loud to ignore, he did what no one expected.

He gave his family to the Light.

River. Manu. Karolisse.

He led them to a peace summit with the Seraveth under false pretenses. When the emissary Michael, second-born of the Light, demanded sacrifice in exchange for truce, Erik bowed his head.

Karolisse screamed. The sky fractured. Michael smiled. And Erik Horrosh shattered.

He was crowned not in gold, but in ash. The world watched in horror as Kaedrith, once the jewel of Aethros, was engulfed in cleansing flame.

But peace never came.

Instead, Michael gifted Erik power - a divine curse wrapped in false mercy. The Alchemist King, once noble, became a weapon. In his grief, he leveled cities, drowned armies, and burned entire continents trying to undo what could not be undone.

Enzo had survived. The cycle could not be broken. Aethros fell into a second Sundering.

πŸ“– Chapter V: THE BROKEN CYCLE

"She came back in smoke and neon, and the gods began to tremble." - Shaden, after the third eclipse

The world of Aethros did not die. It fractured.

The continents split and boiled. The gods went silent. Magic faltered and mutated. Technology, long buried in vaults of dragonbone and glass, surged to the surface. The world stitched itself back together with wires, steam, and spite.

In this neon-drenched age, kingdoms are bought, not crowned. Corporations rule like ancient emperors. Dragons slumber in reactors. Seraveth code haunts the veins of cybersorcerers. The Masks & Cards system of modular magic now spreads like wildfire, its users reshaping fate itself.

And Allan Kaelvyrn rules what is left of the southern continent β€” a broken queen of stormglass and sorrow. She remembers. She always remembers.

She ruled Kaedrith once, alongside her sister reborn, Karolisse. She held her sister’s dying body twice. And now, she claws through every timeline, every echo, seeking her. To find her. To bring her back.

And she does.

In this new world, the girl is born not as Karolisse, not as Maesa β€” but as Belle. She is strange. A flicker. Golden-eyed. Glitch-marked. She hums lullabies that have no name and walks alleyways that were once battlefields. No one knows her. And yet, the world flinches when she speaks.

Erik Horrosh meets her again. Older. Hollow. He doesn’t recognize her β€” not fully. But something in him breaks open. The past slips through his fingers like alchemical dust.

Kazmund watches from afar, loyal as ever. Shaden laughs in riddles.

And Ourea Kaelvyrn? She sails the sky and sea, her name whispered in both courts and gutters. Barefoot and bright-eyed, she knows more than she lets on β€” and carries more than her family yet realizes.

Vaelric Kaelvyrn and Vireya Kaelvyrn walk the edges of legend β€” one seeking peace, one burning for purpose β€” their blood forever bound to a house that refuses to die.

Enzo? Enzo is everywhere. A boy in the wires. A fire in the circuits. A whisper in the dark, still growing.

The cycle has not ended. But it has changed.

And somewhere, far east β€” beyond even memory β€” Arii sails home. Back toward the dreaming sea, where the real gods sleep.

Belle will see her son again one day. The babe still sleeps, encased in what looks like a duck’s egg, always safe in the hands of a Lich King who will forever love her, no matter the name she wears. Karolisse.

The Realms of Aethros. Realm of Fire & Void.
