"Salted bone, black tide, voices beneath the keel."
Dorinda is the Pirate Kingdom of Aethros — a lawless realm of blood, bone, and salt-scarred memory. Its seas roil with cursed tides, its ports serve Bone Choir agents and death cults alike. In Malanest, pirates, necromancers, and Driftline exiles trade beneath shattered banners. Located in the southeastern sea beyond Varethuun, it is made up of jungle-cursed archipelagos, haunted coasts, and drifting fleets that answer to no crown — only to death.
Dorinda is not a land. It is a promise: that nothing sacred stays buried.

☾ Geography & Environment
Climate: Storm-tossed archipelago; black-sand beaches; decayed coral reefs; tide-choked grave channels.
Notable Locations:
- Malanest (Pirate Port): Capital of Dorinda — a floating, rotting port city ruled by pirate factions and Bone Choir lords.
- Deadwake Shoals: Ship graveyard where Bone Choir rituals are often performed.
- Gullet Isles: Cluster of cursed isles — hunting grounds for necromantic pirates and Bone Choir ships.
☾ Culture & People
Dorinda is a fluid, fractured region where no single banner flies. Pirate courts, bone-traders, breathforged sailors, and cult-ravaged fleets barter power in memory, blood, and myth.
The Bone Choir moves through Dorinda’s ghostcoasts and shrinewrecks, conducting rites and preserving memory threads. But they do not govern. They serve only their own sacred logic — memory, recursion, and the breath of dragons long dead.
Arii, the Drowned Thread, is often spoken of here — not as ruler, but as myth. Some claim she was once queen of Malanest before she vanished eastward, swallowed by stars. Others say she still sails, her ship brushing time’s edge. To meet her gaze is to forget your own name.
Nhaar’Kezhul, the Tidebound Leviathan, coils deep beneath Dorinda’s coral trenches. His presence warps tide and want alike. Some cults serve him willingly. Others are born already changed.
The Lich King is not found in Dorinda. His Hollow lies elsewhere — invoked here only in echo. Those who claim his command are mad, mistaken, or both.
☾ Magic & Combat
Common Magic:
- Bone, Ash, Water, Wyrd Breathforms.
- Marrow Weaving — the shaping of bone and memory into combat constructs.
- Necrotide Sorcery — blending of water magic and necromancy for shipbinding and tide warping.
Combat Styles:
- Spine-Twist Doctrine — core Bone Choir combat form.
- Tidepiercer + Marrow hybrid forms — used by pirate captains allied to the Choir.
- Deathwake Boarding Arts — bone-masked assault style used in ship-to-ship combat.

☾ History & Legends
Dorinda has long been a land of outlaws and sea-bound dead. The Bone Choir first claimed the Western Spire during the Second Sundering, transforming the archipelago into a necromantic stronghold. Malanest rose as a haven for pirate fleets allied to the Choir. Over the centuries, Dorinda became a land where the living and dead coexist — a nexus of dark Breathform study, Bone magic, and pirate tradition. The Lich King rules the deeper heart of Dorinda, but Malanest remains wild — a place where any coin, and any soul, may change hands.
☾ Current Status
Dorinda holds no throne. Its power changes with each tide. Bone Choir sanctums open and collapse overnight. Pirate syndicates war over memory-forged maps. Cults rise, then drown.
Malanest still stands — a cathedral-ship turned city, ruled by no one but bound by blood oaths and recursion debts. Sailors say Arii was seen there last, walking above the tide with laughter in her wake.
The Deep stirs. And the breath sings strange names again.
☾ Threats & Oddities
- Marrowborn Wraiths — Bone Choir experiments gone rogue.
- Cursed ships — ghost vessels crewed by Bone-masked revenants.
- Sea-locked recursion fractures — bleeding Sliver anomalies from ancient shipwrecks.
- Bone Choir heretic sects pursuing forbidden Lichcraft beyond the Lich King’s control.
- Rumors of a Bonebound Leviathan slumbering beneath the Deadwake Shoals.
