The Threadborn Initiative was a secretive project born in the shadow of the Second Sundering and the rising instability of the Maesa Cycle.

Conceived by Kazmund, with support from select Seraveth defectors and elements of the Deck crafters, the Initiative sought to achieve the impossible:

• Stabilize or fragment the reincarnation pattern of Maesa
• Create controllable Cycle-born avatars
• Harvest and weaponize Memory Threads and Echoes through modular magic

Through advanced Mask/Card overlays, neural grafting, and bio-arcane fusion, the Initiative produced a handful of surviving subjects — all marked by instability, power, and tragedy.

Its works still echo through the modern magic systems of Aethros. The Deck of Threads bears its imprint. The Cycle shudders beneath its scars.

• Thread Capture — extracting living Memory Threads from Maesa fragments and past Cycle echoes
• Neural Grafting — embedding Thread fragments and Card constructs into host consciousness
• Mask Integration — binding specific Masks to enforce persona overlays and stability

• Belle — Glitch-marked reincarnation of Maesa, partially touched by Threadborn experiments post-rebirth
• Kinasu Minaeza — survivor of Initiative neural fusion; advanced mech-neural hybrid
• Thyran Dusel — Initiative subject; arcane-physical hybrid with enforced Mask overlays
• Wing — “Drift King” unit; Deck-based consciousness construct derived from Threadborn engineering
• Fiore — custom-built guardian construct by Kazmund; infused with stabilized Memory Threads
• Sarena — companion and construct of similar Threadborn lineage; loyal to Maesa avatars

⚖️ Current Status

The Threadborn Initiative is officially defunct — publicly buried after its instability and cost were revealed.

In truth, Kazmund continues to preserve its research. Shaden supports its informational preservation, if not its continuation.

The surviving subjects walk the world — fractured, powerful, and inextricably bound to the future of the Maesa Cycle. The Deck of Threads and certain Mask variants still bear the Initiative’s corrupted imprint.
